A change has been produced much less than two weeks in advance of the contest.

Ukrainian strongman Pavlo Nakonechnyy has officially withdrawn from the 2023 World’s Strongest Gentleman (WSM) contest. Nakonechnyy will not make the excursion to Myrtle Beach, SC on the week of Apr. 19-23, 2023, due to the exact knee damage that pressured him to withdraw from the 2023 Europe’s Strongest Gentleman level of competition in mid-March. His fellow countryman, Pavlo Kordiyaka, stepped up and received that competitors on Apr. 1, 2023. Nakonechnny at first experienced the injuries during the deadlift part of the 2023 Arnold Strongman Classic.

The World’s Strongest Male promoters shared the news on Instagram on Saturday, Apr. 8. Nakonechnyy later posted remarks on his have Instagram web page about his absence.

“I [will] miss out on WSM 2023. I desire all athletes achievements and see you upcoming year at WSM 2024.”

On the very same day as the withdrawal announcement, WSM organizers also shared that American competitor Thomas Evans will change Nakonechnyy in the lineup.

Evans is coming off a fifth-put end at the 2023 Arnold Strongman Vintage in early March 2023. Mitchell Hooper received that contest, but Evans concluded a person spot forward of two-time World’s Strongest Guy champion Tom Stoltman. This will be Evans’ initially WSM overall look.
